In working with clients, my focus is on resolving past and current issues, and developing awareness and resilience so that a person or couple can cope and adjust during times of impasse or transition. I value the significance and importance of human connectedness and context. My areas of interest and expertise include trauma and childhood trauma, relationship breakdown, couples counselling, family therapy, acculturation issues, expat and relocation issues, self esteem and confidence, anxiety and anxiety disorders, depression, loss, grief, existential issues, longstanding life patterns and complex difficulties, health and wellbeing.

With respect to couple therapy, I am skilled in helping with unyielding relational patterns, communication skills, connection and nurturance, lack of fulfilment, transitional and life stage issues.

I draw on a range of therapy modalities in my work, including Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Cybernetics, Emotion Focussed Therapy. I am also experienced in neuropsychotherapy, which involves the integration of neuroscience and therapy.

I am fully registered with the Health Professions Council South Africa. I have over 30 years experience as a psychologist and senior psychologist, and 13 years as a clinical psychologist. I have worked in both private practice and public mental health spheres and was a faculty lecturer and supervisor in clinical psychology programs.
