Clinical psychologists treat people with relatively serious kinds of psychological distress, like depression or anxiety disorders. They hold Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I believe that every person has the capacity to grow beyond difficulties. Working from a Narrative perspective, I help you to uncover stories about your life that are not saturated with problems and difficulties, but rather that are richly filled with hope and growth.
I completed my graduate and post-graduate studies at the North West University at the Potchefstroom campus. Thereafter I gained valuable clinical experience working at Tygerberg and Stikland hospitals. I worked for the City of Cape Town until February 2014, where I worked specifically with chronically ill patients.
From 2014 until end 2017 I was in private practice as a part of the team at the practice of Janet Bytheway in Bloubergstrand. I work with adults, adolescents and children alike, and offer individual or couple therapy.
2018 sees the opening of my practice in the Helderberg, where I will be open to seeing families, couples and individuals (both adult and adolescent).
