I am a clinical psychologist in private practice in Gardens, Cape Town. I work individually with adults who might be feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope with difficulties that may be related to depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship stress.
For the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, I primarily make use of Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). I also draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches, depending on the specific needs of the client. I am a qualified EMDR practitioner for the treatment and processing of trauma. Each session is collaborative with a specific focus on holding struggle with compassion and on gaining new insights that can lead to constructive changes and an alleviation of distress.
STRUCTURE OF SESSIONS - Our sessions will last 50 minutes and typically take place weekly. Initially, there is a clinical assessment over two to three sessions and thereafter we will discuss a therapeutic plan moving forward.
