Clinical psychologists treat people with relatively serious kinds of psychological distress, like depression or anxiety disorders. They hold Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I’m a clinical psychologist practicing in Emmarentia, Johannesburg and work therapeutically with adults, adolescents and children. I hold an MA (Clinical Psychology) (Cum Laude) degree from the University of Witswatersrand and completed my internship training in the eating disorder ward and adolescent ward at Tara Hospital as well as several community primary mental healthcare clinics. After a few years in community mental health I transitioned into full-time private practice.
I offer a safe, supportive space for people to explore their personal difficulties and struggles; whether these problems are related to every day life or point to more serious problems such as depression, anxiety or other mental health issues.
I have a special interest in working with children and parents, and specifically with parents and their infants, during pregnancy and in the first two years of life.
I have also trained in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy which involves the use of horses in the therapeutic process.
