Clinical Psychologist  ?
MA Clinical Psychology (with distinction) (UCT)

HPCSA Number: PS 0127639

I am a clinical psychologist practicing in Wynberg, Southern Suburbs. I work with individuals (children, adolescents and adults) and with families/couples. I assist those struggling with the following issues:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression
  • Addictive behaviours
  • Difficulties adjusting to/coping with change or loss
  • Trauma
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Personal growth and development

I provide a warm, non-judgemental and safe space where we work together to develop an understanding of who you are and why you may be struggling at this time. A deeper understanding facilitates new ways of responding, which alleviates suffering and allows us to better navigate life’s highs and lows.

I provide both short-term therapy to develop coping skills to improve your current functioning, and long-term therapy to assist you to develop a deeper understanding of where your difficulties may come from and how they impact on your life. I also offer play therapy to children struggling with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

I have gained experience (including neuropsychological and psychometric assessments) in a wide range of settings working with a variety of issues. I primarily follow an integrative psychodynamic approach to therapy, but draw on principles and skills from other therapeutic approaches (such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) according to the unique needs of each individual.

I am passionate about my work with my clients and am continually inspired by the power of the therapeutic relationship.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am then I can change" Carl Rogers
