Bianca van der Walt currently runs her own private practice in Douglasdale and consults at Seriti Therapy Centre in Bedfordview. She completed her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, in Port Elizabeth. Her training included working with a diverse range of clients, involving children, adolescents, adults and families. She completed her internship (cum laude) at the University Psychology Clinic (UCLIN) and at the Student Counselling, Career and Development Centre (SCCDC).

Bianca fulfilled diverse roles in her training. She conducted various modalities of psychotherapy, including individual and group therapy, play therapy, family counselling, career counselling, grief therapy and trauma counselling. Psychometric measures were often used to assist clients’ with their various needs. She facilitated psycho-educational programs, covering topics addressed to help increase self-awareness, manage stress, gain conflict resolution skills and obtain career information. She also completed an internship rotation at Quest School, a school for pupils who have Autism. She aided the teachers and therapists to better help the pupils through teacher training, assisting with individualised educational programs, group activity sessions, along with individual counselling for the pupils, which she was commended for.

Bianca is extremely passionate about individuals who have special needs. She previously managed a large volunteer program at Lake Farm Centre, an adult care facility for people who have various special needs in Port Elizabeth. The program assisted the members of Lake Farm with physical exercise activities, along with group learning programs. In addition, she has been involved with teaching children who have special needs, along with designing individual programs for children who have learning difficulties.

Ultimately, Bianca is passionate about empowering people to reach their goals and overcome challenges in their lives. Through their therapeutic journey, she aids individuals to navigate through challenging experiences, using various skills learnt in psychotherapy. These skills aim to increase self-awareness, help implement better decision making, manage stress and anxiety and to enrich peoples' lives.
