Camps Bay

As a Counselling Psychologist working individually with children, adolescents and adults in Camps Bay, Cape Town, I offer confidential psychological counselling / psychotherapy for a wide variety of emotional and behavioural difficulties.

My aim is to offer you a safe place to explore your difficulties and help you to re-discover your natural potential and ability to resolve any problems that you may be facing and regain trust in yourself and your relationships. We can work together to understand better where your struggles originate and how they come to remain in existence. Together we can examine long-standing behaviour patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back from experiencing life that is more meaningful and fulfilling.

In general, I work with children, adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties in the following areas: self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, adjustment to new life situations including divorce and separation, relocation and immigration/emigration, illness, trauma, grief and loss, depression (including post-natal depression), anxiety, stress, and more.

My work with children pertains more specifically to issues surrounding power and control, poor self-concept, insufficient social skills, illness or death of a loved one, parental conflict, separation and divorce, trauma including physical, emotional and sexual abuse, worries, fears and excessive sadness, adjustment difficulties, behavioural regression, temper tantrums and aggressive behaviour (hurting others or self), non-medical problems with bowel and bladder control, pre-occupation with sexual behaviour, physical symptoms such as headaches and stomachaches that have no medical cause, sudden drops in school performance that cannot be explained by lack of skills and abilities, and more.

I further offer parental advice, couples counselling, career guidance to high school learners as well as adults that wish to change their career, emotional and educational assessments, and neuropsychological assessments to adults and children of the Atlantic Seaboard and the Cape Town city bowl.
