Counselling psychologists treat people dealing with normal life challenges, such as the loss of a job or divorce. They hold Master’s Degrees in Counselling Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I currently work as a psychologist in private practice whilst also consulting to a government hospital in Johannesburg. In my private practice my work focuses on working with adults - be it individually, or within a couple, or family.
The decision to enter therapy is courageous yet sometimes difficult, and I aim to offer my clients a safe and supportive space so that they can allow themselves the time and patience needed to better understand themselves and their presenting concerns. My work in hospitals, community clinics and even in the corporate sector has shown me the enormous value of self-insight and self-awareness and the positive impact that the development of these has in the various aspects of one's life. I offer therapy that aims to develop understanding of one's self so as to create deep and enduring changes in one's life - as more often than not, our behaviour, thoughts and ways of relating, whilst well-intentioned, do not always lead to the desired outcome.
