Occupational therapists treat people with physical or mental impairments, helping them to achieve independence in their lives. They hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Occupational Therapy and are registered with the Board for Occupational Therapists, Medical Orthotists/Prosthetists and Art Therapists.
I am a paediatric Occupational Therapist working with children from birth to approximately 12 years of age. I treat babies experiencing developmental delays, and give advice to families on normal baby milestones and how to stimulate age appropriate development. I also work with older children who are experiencing difficulties with sensory integration, postural control, motor abilities, visual perception, school related tasks (such as writing and numeracy) and concentration.
