Romy Kruger is an occupational therapist with a special interest in early intervention. Her areas of expertise are with children on the autistic spectrum and children who experience sensory integration difficulties.

Romy graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2007 on the Dean’s Merit List. She went on to do her community service year in Johannesburg at Tara Psychiatric Hospital in the children’s ward. This confirmed her passion for working with children who present with many behavioural challenges.

Romy then moved to Sydney Australia for 2 years where she joined 2 different paediatric private practices and worked at the renowned Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Her time was spent working in the inpatient children’s ward and on the outpatients team specializing in Autism. This is where her love of working with autism truly developed.

Since leaving Australia in 2010, Romy spent 8 months backpacking around the world. She returned to Cape Town in 2011 where she opened her own private practice working alongside a speech therapist, Tania Botoulas, in Tokai.

In 2013 Romy attended the international conference for Autism in Dublin and completed her advanced training in Sensory Integration and Praxis. Romy frequently attends OT and Autism courses to ensure she is up to date and well informed to work with her clients.

In her spare time Romy enjoys running, swimming, cycling, reading, spending time with her family and friends and traveling.
