Registered counsellors perform basic counselling for people who are looking to improve their personal functioning. They can also assess to see if a client need more in depth psychological treatment and refer them to the appropriate practitioner. Registered councillors hold honours degrees in psychology.
Qualifications & Training
I completed my BSC (Hons) Psychology in 2000 at Stellenbosch University.
I obtained a BPsychEqv from UNISA in 2012.
I regularly attend workshops as part of my continuous professional development.

Annually I deliver a presentation to psychologists and counsellors at the Winelands Journal Club as part of their CPD training.

I have experience in counselling (including trauma counselling) in various settings – educational, hospital/medical, community level and on-site. The counselling ranged from longer term counselling (adolescents coping with their parents’ divorce, terminal illness or death of a parent) to more acute cases (dealing with abuse at school level and doing on-site counselling for victims of crime and violence)Network registration
