I am a Social Worker in Private Practice with 14 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. My experience locally and abroad has equipped me to deal with people from all walks of life. I am passionate about influencing people, instilling hope and empowering individuals. I believe that every human being is a miracle predestined by a Creator and my dream is for every person to have a revelation of their own uniqueness and individuality. Furthermore, I believe that hope is stronger than fear and I hope that through my interactions with clients that they will find their own inner boldness to step beyond whatever fears are withholding them to step into their God-given destinies.
Although I consider myself to be a committed Christian, I am entirely comfortable working with clients from all religious backgrounds. I work from a Person-Centred Approach, meaning that the person is the focus of the therapy, not the problem. In addition, I combine various other therapeutic approaches to suit the client's individual needs.
My current scope of practice includes individual counselling to adults in the areas of grief and loss, couple's/marital therapy, divorce, stress management, adjustment issues, low self-esteem as well as assisting clients to cope with mild symptoms of depression and anxiety.
In addition, I offer Employee Wellness Services to various corporate companies to assist their employees experiencing various challenges affecting their emotional well-being. I am also passionate about presenting workshops and group debriefings in this setting.
I am also passionate about adoption and am comfortable offering mentoring and counselling services to adult adoptees. I have served as volunteer on the Executive Committee of the National Adoption Coalition South Africa (NACSA).
I have also coordinated a mentoring program for Akademia University in Centurion.
