Wedge Gardens: Reclaim your life

Run by 114-year-old NPO Rand Aid Association, Wedge Gardens treatment centre offers holistic rehabilitation that allows people to regain their rightful place in society.

Sanca affiliated and registered with the Department of Social Development, Wedge Gardens has a team of highly-trained, professional staff members.

Services offered:

  • A full substance abuse rehabilitation programme is offered to men over the age of 18, from pre-admission to in-patient (both short and long term), out-patient and halfway house services.
  • Adult diversion services are offered to adult offenders. This includes Nicro referrals.
  • Diversion programmes are structured for human resources departments who need to refer employees with substance abuse problems for therapy.
  • Drug testing services are available.

Full Circle Recovery Programme:

This is the professional programme and offers a holistic, systematic, problem-solving and reality-based therapy approach.

The people conducting this programme are professionals, and include registered counsellors, social workers, medical and nursing practitioners and a full-time occupational therapist.

At the same time, the fellowship programme based on Alcoholics Anonymous’s Big Book and 12-step philosophy runs concurrently to the professional programme.

Interventions take place in individual and group settings and psychotherapy and psycho-education are offered to both residents and their families in individual and group settings.

Operating hours:

24-hour in-patient treatment facility. New applicants: Monday - Friday: 07h00 - 16h00

Independent living

Rand Aid Association now offers independent living to men over the age of 50 who are able to live on their own but function better in a somewhat structured environment.

Offered on a full board and lodge basis in a secure environment, the accommodation is aimed at people who function in society and hold down a job or volunteer position, but who find it difficult to cope in a totally independent environment, be it because of former addiction problems or other issues.

Please note, although medical assistance exists in the case of an emergency, care facilities are not offered. In addition, access control is in place to prevent alcohol or drugs from being brought onto the premises.
